A short proof that the circuit for quantum teleportation works:https://twitter.com/michael_nielsen/status/1131784174203953153 …

Had some fun this afternoon re-analyzing the circuit for quantum teleportation. Here's a proof I found that the circuit works. The circuit to be verified: top two qubits are Alice's, including the state psi to be teleported. Bottom qubit is Bob's - want to show it outputs psi. pic.twitter.com/w7Bl3FPZ1B

Where does that teleportation circuit come from anyway? A short piece of Twitter discovery fiction, explaining a plausible story by which you might have come to discover the circuit for quantum teleportation in the first place:https://twitter.com/michael_nielsen/status/1132063254849527808 …

When trying to understand a scientific or mathematical result, I often find it helpful to write what I call discovery fiction.

I ask whether people without a mind's eye (aphantastics) are able to use memory palace techniques. Many of the replies were really remarkable!https://twitter.com/michael_nielsen/status/1144281873197096961 …

Have any aphantastics tried visual mnemonic techniques, like the method of loci, memory palaces, etc? Do they work at all for you?

In 2012 I participated in a small group discussion led by @doctorow. I chanced into it, but he painted a picture I've thought about often in the years since, and that has changed the way I see the world.
