“The preeminent transnational community in our culture is science,” Richard Rhodes, 1986. Perhaps no longer so true, due to globalization. Still, a marvellous thing about science. Always remarkable to sit down with 9 colleagues & realize 10 countries are represented!

I realize this is banal, but I experience this most playing Go online. I’ve had whole, in-depth conversations mediated by Google Translate and play-by-turn comment fields.
