It always disappoints me that the word "thesaurus" has no synonyms

"Symonymicon"! At first I thought it was cynically invented so that "thesaurus" could have a synonym, but here's a citation from 1871 which seems legit: https://books.google.com/books?id=tE1AAAAAYAAJ&pg=PP9&dq=synonymicon&hl=en&sa=X ….
Interesting! I've never seen it in a thesaurus, so presume it is now an archaic usage.
