Thanks! Not my article, though I was interviewed. You're right about the readership not being 3.5m. My guess is 100-500,000 genuine readers - people who sat down & read a real chunk of it. Hard to give more exact numbers, just reading the analytics tea leaves.

Most ppl don’t read most of paper textbooks either. Yeah I dunno why CS ppl would want to do paper books now. The online-for-free + publish-paper-on-demand model seems optimal
