I suspect no-one deserves the Economics Nobel more than Satoshi. It tickles me enormously that she/he/they(/it?) remain anonymous.
(a) I've no idea if it's a he; (b) Satoshi designed a new type of economic system, solving some difficult problems to do so, implemented the system, deployed it at scale, and kicked off a huge amount of thinking by economists.

Bitcoin is an implementation of the underlying system, the system is also defined in the original Satoshi paper. Going the extra mile an developing a proof of concept shouldn’t undermine the presence of the underlying hypothesis!
