Great article Max. One extra argument for why this matters: if a person doesn't understand the ways things are improving, it means they won't understand the mechanisms & institutions which produce improvement. That knowledge is likely critical for solving future problems.

Yes, that is definitely one of my main motivations for doing my work. Our current situation is absurd. We have a ton of experience on how to achieve really important progress, but we spend almost no time teaching and learning about it.
