Unlearning is just as important as learning. Instead, we often get so stuck to our beliefs, ideas and doings (i.e. our identity). Keep loose ties with your “identity” and your world will become infinite.
I don't want to disagree, but I do think it's also worth exploring the opposite point of view: that identity gives people meaning and purpose and a sense of belonging. People with large, multiple senses of identity often seem unusually happy (&, often, effective) to me.

Sometimes we need to reinvent our identity . Sometimes it can become a stale one that needs it.

Sooner or later if one takes an 'ever-evolving' philosophical approach, then there is nothing left to be able to change. We need something 'identical' to itself, at some point. If not, there would seem to be a worldview pre-commitment at issue, more than just a proper attitude.
