The fundamental problem isn't that they're not aware what a good study looks like. It's that they want to promote things that confirm what they want to believe.
But keeping a copy of a poster like this one, and policing yourself to always check through all of the points couldn't help? Even if they know what good science looks like, who checks everything and everytime? :/
