More advice for students: An ideal employment situation is where I regularly learn and grow in areas that are meaningful to me while doing my job. After 22 years, it’s not always the case so I still block out regular time outside of work to pursue education.

Someone told me "It's in my employer's best interest if I learn and grow" and I argued "It's in their best interest to pay you to do your job, it's in your best interest to learn and grow"
