Basic one: any recommendations for where to learn the basics or what software to use? I've been learning how to model in Maya and was considering trying out animating, but not sure where the best place to start is or what program(s) are the best choice

If ur already comfortable navigating around Maya I say stay with Maya. There’s also lots of free rigs for you to mess with. This Saturday
@PoodleTime is streaming a free class. Also@shumface has some gumroad tutorials that are cheap and can give you an idea of what’s involved - Show replies

Héroes on OW/HOTS use skins that alter they look, but that mean that change skeleton used to make the animations? Because i have seems skins have diferents unique poses from the Rest of the skins for that héroe.

It depends. Sometimes it’s the same, sometimes it’s brand new, and sometimes it’s both. For example, Deputy Valla is mostly the same skeleton except her arms, which changed proportion and position from the original.

I'm currently studying Animation at Uni (3D work all in maya), how likely is it that I will be able to find employment within the games industry, as I have not directly studied nor I will have a degree in Games Design/Production?
-
I look at demonstrations of your ability to animate and not your degree. Beyond that I look for professionalism, culture fit and track record.
