Do you recommend any in particular?
I often recommend 3D animation students learn early a reliable method to set up and track arcs quickly. Built in Maya tools are ok but juggling the organization and performance is a skill in and of itself 3rd party tools are also available #animtip

I like the old school way of constraining a red sphere. I use other methods too, but that one's great when you're starting out to train your eye to see and pay attention to how something is moving through space. Often I'll hide the geo and use a cube for the COG. :)

Great tip Back in the day I would tape a clear projector sheet over my monitor and use a dry erase marker...zero maya performance impact lol

Most animators I know just end up using a sharpie on the screen, motion tracking eats a lot of resources :(
