thanks for answering sonny! yes i do mean tons of animations. however my animations exist in different files. is there a way to do that in Maya?

You can use the "Game Exporter" in both Max and Maya, but I've had a very hit and miss experience with it. In Max at least you can do it through script.

It was my understanding that they were taking all of the MB functionality and putting it in Maya, the retiring MB. That is why the characterizer is almost, if not identical in Maya. I love MB.

James, Maya is still a long way from being able to fully replace MotionBuilder. Multiple takes - You can use the game exporter/ code it with the FBX SDK but MotionBuilder is going to be days faster to do this with.
