I liked almost everything about The Last Jedi except for almost all of the plot and most of the words everyone said. Ships and sets and design and acting and effects etc. etc. were, with few exceptions, all pretty on point.

Same. :x Group of five of us superfans went last night, and I was the only one who didn't bitterly loathe it, lol.
It goes very far away from honoring the world. It seems all the wheels were working together properly, but they were pointed in unnecessary and overly jokey directions. How much money was spent on those stupid nun creatures just for a couple sight gags? So bizarre...

It really felt more like a Guardians of the Galaxy with a Star Wars theme movie. :(

Yeah unfortunately the big budget action bombast has infected Star Trek and now even somehow even pushed the already action-heavy Star Wars into new territory.
