The receptionist hands me a test, and she tells me don't spend too much time on this one question. It ends up being a 'fill in the blank' sequence problem for QA specifically, and so I look at it and try, but I'm just bad at those and so I take a completely wild guess.
After, I go into an office for an interview, and first question is how did I solve that question correctly since only something like 5% of their candidates do. So kind of freaking out I just say I guessed, and the guy hums and haws over it a while.
I'm sure trying to decide if I'm a genius or figure out how I cheated. Takes me on a short tour, and then lets me know they'll be in touch. Of course I didn't get it, but I've always wondered if I had gotten that question wrong had my life gone a different way.
And also being 16 after I got shot down I sent Feargus an email where as I recall I wasn't very thankful or nice about the kindness he had done. I try not to harbor any regrets in life, but that's one of them. I'm sure he wouldn't even remember.
