This is why I like Famitus magazine's reviews, they're an aggregate review of X/40 by 4 reviewers each giving a X/10. 1 loves the genre, 1 never plays it, and he other 2 dabble.
It at least means you aren't seeing just one view point, getting an idea of what it's like as a game, and not just love for the genre it falls into.
