Thoughts on accepting invites from people you don't know on @LinkedIn? Feels disingenuous to me to add them, but seems everyone does it.

I only reach out to someone I've met irl or know via social media and I always remind them how we met.

I feel weird when someone I don't know tries to connect with me. I just got an invite from Ex-2's realtor. O_o

Read an article with LinkedIn's founder a bit ago that actually touched on this. 🙂 http://www.businessinsider.com/reid-hoffman-how-to-use-linkedin-2017-4 …

If I know them, 100%. If they seem cromulent (bizdev/recruiter types), I'll add them for a week or two and see if they do anything useful.

They can technically message without being added though, correct? Not sure cromulence needs proving.

I usually send a message back asking how we know each other. Sometimes I have forgotten, but if they have a good answer I often overlook.
