      With the Windows 10 Creator's Update installed I'm giving @MicrosoftEdge browser an actual chance and... seems decent so far???

      yup! That's the thing I was waiting for. It has working extensions. Adblock. I use LastPass and it has that too now.

      (the window not keeping its last setting means I've gone back to Chrome for now. resizing every time I start Edge up is a no go for me)

          Try Ctrl + 0 to restore default settings for zoom. Also try Ctrl + mouse wheel to scroll in/out by 5%.

          No I mean I size the window a specific way. Close, reopen, it's reset to its own default and not my last used window size/position.
