Totally agree (though I'm even less crazy about the FPSers).
I liked Firewatch, but I'm a bit shocked at all the GotY nods/wins. It was a well made narrative experience, but not sure I'd call it game.

The term "game" encompasses a range of very diverse activities. I don't think, adding "video" makes the "game" part clearer.

But I'm in that camp of people who think that kind of games had gone beyond getting called "adventure".

Felt like kind of an interactive movie to me, and I mean that at praise. Absolutely loved the interaction between characters.
