Yea it seems to be a trend these last few blizzcons. still enjoyed myself each time, but it gets kinda old/played out.
To anyone that hosts BlizzCon contests: Don't worry about trying to entertain nerds, just entertain humans/adults.

i can never hear the stand up from back stage, I'd be happy if they just skip to the contests, we sit back there a long time

And it would make the contest/showcase less exclusive. The sign-up list is already ridiculous. :(
