Every time I go to play WoW I start trying to figure out how to spend points and drag skills to my bars, and just end up closing the game.

just follow one forum,like for mages,Altered-Time forums,and so on, once you find a good site,bookmark,and win
It's not that I don't know where the answers are, it's that I have to go find answers, and value of time.

Especially vs. other games that don't require it.

i get bored when games are too simple,dont you?3-4 buttons constantly spammed, no penalty for the wrong rotation

the ppl that put the time in to play properly are rewarded with better numbers/correct priority rotations,imo i like it

Oh sure, and I'm fine with higher skill caps to a degree, but that's not anywhere near just starting to try to play the game.
