Dumbest design ever: you lose rank in @PlayOverwatch despite sticking it out for the whole match after 4 people leave mid-match.

It's all really designed for premade teams. Don't solo queue if you want Competitive to make sense.

No argument. Sadly, while us solos continue to try, the pre-mades RAKE in the points at the end of the season.

There just needs to be another progression system outside of Competitive, and then wall that off for groups.

The main problem is that it's very difficult to determine individual contributions in a game like Overwatch.

Maybe even impossible due to a changing landscape of balance, maps, and heroes.

Trying to expand Competitive is going to (I worry) make it harder to just make it the system it should be.

Agree 100%. Bottom line: those who stay despite losing members & not having them refilled shouldn't lose rank.

Say we're losing, if I can try to make other people quit I can save rating. Encourages douchebaggery.

Which is 1 example of layering systems to try to fix the fact that Competitive should not allow solo queueing.

That rarely, if ever, happens, and bonus, OW doesn't add missing players mid-match at all. Screwed either way.

Well yeah, backfilling introduces all of its own problems.
