I think that article hits some good points. But I think it also needs to consider boxed product vs. free to play vs. cost/recoup.

"Is it fun?" is the first thing I want to know when considering a new game. For me, fun is the main point of playing.

Sure. "A blast to play" is just an oddly stilted and robotic sounding phrase to choose as a marketing accolade. IMO.
