It's the lack of transparency and hidden expected/required additional costs that I dislike, not that people need money to live.

@oliviadgrace The idea with tipping is to ensure quality service by "earning a good tip." Doesn't really work in practice.

@devolore @oliviadgrace My only real experience is in France, and I assume the service there is a result of not needing to care about tips.

@micahwhipple @devolore Haha no, French waiters etc are famously rude to people who don't speak French.
