It reminds of the convention openings I attended over the past few years (gamescom, PAX East, Paris Games Week). It was even more impressive at gamescom where people sprint accross multiple halls
The runners at gamescom are pretty intense. I think Comic-Con is the only thing that comes close. Have to get to those limited-edition merch lines.

I only experienced SDCC from one of the car park far away from the convention center and then 30 minutes on the showfloor. It was so packed that I can imagine the mad rush
