US electrical outlets are 110v, so our electric kettles take twice as long to boil. Stovetop is fine but takes even longer. Microwave is the fastest way to heat water, at least for us. But also it doesn’t matter how you boil water.

110v doesn't matter - what wattage is the kettle? Assuming you have W is the US? A 3kw kettle will boil water very quickly, though in the US it would be.. er.. 27 amps. How powerful are your electricity circuits?

Yeah sorry, was just shorthanding to the voltage. US: 110x15=1.6kW UK: 230x13=~3kW UK kettles boil water roughly twice as fast as ours.
