TLoU2 is the first game to make me misty eyed. Seems a lot of people find deeper emotion in games than I do, and I’m curious: What was the most impactful/emotional moment for you in gaming?

Like seriously dude, if TLOU2 was the first game to make you misty eyed, play more varied games. There are MANY MANY MANY games that do what TLOU do better than any AAA game can. TLOU2 isn't that special.
Movies get me pretty easily. Games just don’t, traditionally. I’m up for being moved more often.

Nier, Undertale, and One Shot to name a couple. Red Dead Redemption and Metal Gear Solid 3 for AAA games.

The original Nier is a bit hard to track down since it was PS3/360. Automata is the sequel but its self contained. Its just as good story wise with better gameplay and is on all platforms. Start there if you like. Protip: Do all the sidequests.
