Ended up getting Uplay+ and am going to see if Breakpoint and FC New Dawn capture my attention for a bit. So far seems like Breakpoint is doing it.

I've been playing cloudpunk. Single player and "progression" is a stretch - it's a delivery simulator with timers and bars you can't see - but it's very pretty and earnest.
