After digesting the leaked Shadowspear stuff, I've oddly come to the conclusion that the unit I thought based off the model was most likely to be not usable might be the best one - the Eliminators.

First off, it's a 3 PL unit. I know PL is on its way out in terms of community usage, but trying to fill the last few PL with Primaris is a lot easier now. This also means they likely aren't more than 75 points for a squad of 3 EXTREMELY versatile shooters.

The two additional ammo types let them do work on units that snipers are typically terrible against. Mortis rounds are extra mean, since you're firing a Bolt Rifle shot at literally any character on the table, hitting on 2+. No more hiding IG commanders to deny Slay the Warlord

Also surprisingly they actually push on a freshly emerged component of the meta - Eliminators are the perfect answer to the escalating trend of characters with ranged weapons to do a lot of work (Meks with Shokk attack guns, Tau characters with Markerlights).

It'll be easy to overcommit with them to try to do all of the work in one round, but even 3 of these dudes parked in a good spot are a huge threat to Weirdboyz and Primaris Psykers that Marines haven't really had since Drop Pods went out of favor.

OH. Wh40k. Man. I had no idea what you were talking about for quite a while there.
