Mmm. I think gameplay and content will actually matter. From what they’ve shown they’d be selling, even if the prices are high, I don’t think it’d impact immediate success. What would they be learning from apex?

Straight-forward monetization. EAs track record recently hasn't been great (see; BF5 and Battlefront 2). They still haven't shared many details of whether they will have paywalls, gate content, loot boxes etc etc. I think gamers are over Loot Boxes games with upfront prices.

I think loot boxes are known? They’ve also said that everything can be bought for Coins OR Shards, so depending on how they balance costs and earn rates that might feel less intrusive to be able to grind out skins and such.
