      Bungie has split with Activision and taken full control of the rights to Destiny. Huge win for Bungie, game developers, the Destiny community, and frankly the gaming community at large.

      Bungie and Activision had a publishing contract, which was always temporary (it ended 2 years early, nbd). Blizzard has been a wholly owned studio since 1994. Activision Blizzard (the parent) could choose to split-off Blizzard as a new company, but... that’s highly unlikely.
