Ok quick poll. This article says to tip your hotel housekeeper/maids $3-5/day. How much do you tip housekeeping? https://twocents.lifehacker.com/heres-how-much-to-tip-at-a-hotel-1830534639 …
That was going to be my next question. How do you tip them? How do they know it's for them? Are we writing notes? Are there envelopes? This is all very new to me.

I'm old, so I'm still trying to re-figure some of it out myself. The example I got from my family was just leaving the tip in an obvious spot. There's never been envelopes that I've seen, I would expect the mgmt doesn't want guests to feel pressured to tip.

Tipping used to just be the norm, so I never considered alternative methods. I have left notes when a tip was left and I really wasn't sure if they just missed it. I just really wish places would make their policies clear for us.

Some hotels will leave a little note and envelope, generally the fancier ones where it's expected to tip the housekeepers.

It's extremely rare for me to stay in a hotel, but when I do I tip a few dollars and leave a note indicating the money is for the housekeeper. Sometimes I enlist the help of a robot. https://www.instagram.com/p/q6t-daqEt_/?utm_source=ig_web_button_share_sheet …
