That's a tough one. I'm in the $5+/day category, but some places don't allow the staff to accept tips and a lot of places don't even say if it's okay or not. If I leave a tip and it's not taken, I don't know if it wasn't clear it was for them or they're not allowed to take it.

That was going to be my next question. How do you tip them? How do they know it's for them? Are we writing notes? Are there envelopes? This is all very new to me.
