I wish i could vote from my smartphone
I was reading an article about blockchain possibly letting that become a reality finally. Does seem silly this isn’t a thing yet but there are a lot of hurdles.

Given that the states would still need to maintain it and some have been awful with updating or maintaining voting machines to fix vulnerabilities, I think paper ballots need to stay.
