Maybe creating a separate twitter for it. Distance themselves till this blows over a bit and something else makes people angry. Running from one company to the other with pitchforks and torches is great cardio
Separate social channels would be the right call, IMO. It’s a different audience.

That's true, but right now its just too large of a target for the angry voices. When the game is released, for sure. I'm more concerned for the well being of the team that's working on it.
