I have mixed feelings about the costume contest this year. We always flirted with the idea of pre-judging and just showing a “top X” costumes but seeing it in action I kind of miss the 100 people parade. Hosting and judging and production were all top notch.

Darin should host everything. I’m biased cos he’s a friend, but he’s magical. :)

I liked the split - they had a Cosplay Exhibition panel prior to the Community Contests where everyone who didn't make the final rounds got to hit the stage regardless and it was great seeing everyone's costumes

Ah! That’s awesome ok I missed that.

No pre-judging. Those people come from far away, have worked a lot on their costumes, they all deserve an exposure to the public, whose tastes, criteria & enthusiasm are not the same as a jury of a few people.

He was the best thus far tbh.

I'd rather have pre-judging and have the actual competitive costumes with time dedicated to those costumes in the main contest, and a separate showcase for the other cosplays that didn't make it. :(

Yeah I wasn’t aware of the stage show before with all of them. I think that’s a cool solution and assume works for most everyone. I approve.
