I took my kids through St Peters Basilica last year and suddenly the sheer over-the-top opulence made me gag even though I had visited it many years before. Now it felt like Christianity’s version of Trump Tower. Nothing Christian about it. Just oozing gold and wealth. - Show replies

I suggest a more nuanced approach, because the majority of clergy live in modest homes and their churches serve impoverished children and provide community support. Megachurches with ultra-rich clergy making more than $100,000 should be taxed. But leave the rest of us alone.

You are right in that. My pastor was a wonderful man. I called him, Uncle Abel. He was a man that did walk the walk. He helped everyone in the community. I miss him. These people who only care about profit, have nothing in common with him.
