We need to stop talking about „layer 2/3“ pyramidal cells in cortex: at least for the logic of their inhibitory input, L2 and L3 pyramidal cells are each as unique as it gets (and different from L5). Moritiz, I always thought that might be the case even though I've been using "L2/3" as a monolithic population in my model forever (https://www.researchgate.net/publication/44799587_A_Cortical_Sparse_Distributed_Coding_Model_Linking_Mini-_and_Macrocolumn-Scale_Functionality …). Can you tell me the approx. number of pyramidals in L2 and L3, i.e., of a minicolumn of "generic" cortex?
