They did. Health care, voting rights, gun control, education, and so much more. The House passed ALL of them. ALL are sitting in the Senate. Don't blame the people who are both legislating AND holding Trump accountable. Blame the people who are doing NEITHER.

It’s not about the Democratic Party. It’s not about the Democratic Party. It’s not about the Democratic Party. It’s not about the Democratic Party. It’s not about the Democratic Party. It’s not about the Democratic Party. It’s about preventing a 2nd Trump term at all costs

In To Kill a Mockingbird, Atticus Finch said, “The one thing that doesn’t abide by majority rule is a person’s conscience.” All along, my conscience has been my guide. But voting my conscience does not require courage — it simply requires doing what I know is right.

Key traits that are part of the character of a leader: their humility and their empathy. We haven’t seen either of these lately.

To the Jacobins in the Republican Party seeking Romney's expulsion (including the president's son), please remember that he won 60,933,504 votes as your presidential candidate in 2012. Have some dignity. Show some respect. Agree to disagree.

Mind-blowing stat: 48 Senators who voted to convict Trump represent 18 million more Americans than 52 Republicans who voted to acquit

Today I asked FBI Director Wray if the Russians were interfering in our elections right now. His response? "We certainly are seeing ... efforts to engage in malign foreign influence by the Russians."

Surprise, surprise. claims it didn’t happen. So why the fear of giving evidence? Seems like we just saw this movie.

This quote from speaks to so many things in today's culture (including hearings in hallowed chambers and dialogues across campuses): "You're entitled to your view but only if you have taken the time to engage with others about it..." 🧵1/3

It is hard to do the right thing - and even to keep sight of what the right thing is — when your system, group, and career incentives push you towards doing the wrong thing. Mitt Romney - and Justin Amash - deserve a lot of respect for doing the right thing when it was hard.

I genuinely don't understand the conspiracy theories about Iowa. If this was a DNC scheme to boost moderates, why would they delay the initial vote showing a Buttiegieg lead? If they rigged it, why would Biden be a distant fourth? Also, uh, the DNC doesn't run the caucuses.

Prediction: The next round of this scandal will involve the president seeking some kind of an investigation of Mitt Romney.

That’s not a good look. Like our generals, leaders of our Intelligence Community need to demonstrate a 100% commitment to nonpartisanship.

Hear me out. Maybe Doug Jones actually thinks the president deserves to be impeached and is letting that dictate his vote rather than considerations about a future on K St. or a Dem administration Sorry, I just haven’t had my regular double shot of cynicism yet this morning

Dem AL Sen Jones on voting to convict Trump: There will be so many who will simply look at what I'm doing today and say it is a profile in courage. It is not. It is simply a matter of right and wrong. Doing right is not a courageous act. It is simply following your oath.

Doug Jones of Alabama has the toughest Senate fight of any incumbent this year, and he’s voting to convict despite there not being close to enough votes for conviction. This is what character looks like. This is a U.S. Senator doing their job with integrity.

If you are more outraged about someone tearing up a speech than you are by someone tearing up the truth, the constitutional checks and balances and moral democratic values then you need to drink a gallon of perspective and start over.
