LA Metro offers its deepest condolences to family and friends of Kobe Bryant, his daughter Gianna and those who perished today. So many rode Metro to go see Kobe perform his magic and win titles. We will find ways to honor Kobe and his irreplaceable legacy. Photo:

Our Regional Connector project opens at HIGH NOON on Friday! 🕛 The project broke ground in fall 2014. To build it, we excavated twin 1.9 mile tunnels under DTLA and dug 3 new underground stations. Degree of difficulty: Extremely High.

We're proud to announce MetROW, the watery transit option for those who don't mind rowing the boat. Our Metro Coxswains are here to help you huff, puff and get where you're going. 🎣 allowed. Eat 🐟 with extreme caution. #April 1

(1/3) Three of our Metro Ambassadors did a very good thing Wednesday: They helped revive a passenger who collapsed at Westlake/MacArthur — with one Ambassador performing chest compressions. A big thank you to Roger, Jossie & Jesus.

Here's a temporary fix for the Grand Av Arts/Bunker Hill Station elevators that we're working on -- decals that explain the 3 buttons riders should use.
A rendering of the decal that would be on the outside of the elevators by the buttons and inside the elevator to the left of the buttons. The decal shows that BR is for Bridge to Grand Av, S for Street at 2nd and Hope and C for Concourse to trains. This is a rendering only.

Br = Pedestrian Bridge to Grand Ave S = Street level 2nd/Hope C = Concourse, ie Trains 🧐 A = Ancillary (non-public area) UA = Upper Ancillary (non-public area) The station is 100+ feet deep. So we needed 'vators to also serve some mechanical stuff behind the scenes. twitter.com/CaryNakama/sta…

Yesterday, another public-transit-only success story. 3 stops on A Line to LA State Historic Park via Regional Connector, and later a 10 minute ride to ktown for a friend's Karaoke party. Everything above within 3 blocks of a station, including my apartment. Thx @metrolosangeles

(1/8) Based on your feedback, we’ve updated our fare capping proposal that will make paying fares easier and ensure that no one overpays for riding. We’re now proposing to keep base fares at their current prices and continue free one-way transfers for two hours.

To repeat--and now with a visual: There is flooding in the Union Station pedestrian tunnel. To get from one end of station to the other, you can use the B/D Line subway. The turnstiles are unlocked.
