Has there ever been a better time in history to learn history?! The resources on this internet thing are amazing. And generally free! #blessed

one question i’ve always wondered about is: for each historical period, when was it best understood by the people motivated to learn about it? e.g. arguably we know more about the 90s now than we did in 2000. But we know less about the Roman Republic than Livy did... (I think?)

You've heard of meta-history? E.g. https://www.college.columbia.edu/cct/archive/sep_oct08/features1 … Ever since hearing about it I've wanted a meta-history of the roman empire, which I cannot have.

Try Dan Carlin's "Hardcore History" podcast. Not sure if it's still free on the internet, but it's worth whatever it costs. and You're Welcome, in advance

I've listened to 99% of it :) But I don't think it's meta-history. Just (very well done) history.
