The process D&G are refering to, Nietzsche's levelling of the European man calls explicitly for hierarchy and *spheres* of existence, and also justification (which falls under hierarchy), how does one suppose to attend such an idea without first transcending via politics etc.

D&G characterize the levelling process as occurring through the progressive deterritorialization and decoding of flows, which is that which the majoritarian political formations seek to prevent from happening (it is the "nightmare" of the political)...

      Replying to @EBBerger @meta_nomad and

as for the hierarchy, Nietzsche explicitly defines levelling/homogenizing as being the encasing of European man inside a vast industrial clockwork, which Klossowski and D&G take (accurately imo) as being more related to techno-industrial development than the political, which...

comes to take a more subordinate position through this very process (means-ends inversion in Land, or the state becoming the agent of capitalist axiomatic in D&G).

Could you expand on the means-end (Land) here?

Basically: what was once held in control by the system becomes autonomous, and comes even to reverse that order. Like for Marx capital turns the capitalist into an agent of itself, and for D&G in the historical epoch of capitalism the state loses power and is transformed into..

a mechanism for assisting in realizing capitalist axiomatics. So there can't be a political autonomy or a distinctive set of values, because capital rises up and becomes the driver.

Very articulate. But as for the present, could there not be a political movement which, out of our 'choices' of political movements, is the one which would help accelerate the process towards the 'end' (whichever that may be) better than others?

I'm not sure if it could occur at all through a march through the institutions, since the process is taking place beyond and beneath the political. Imo this is the importance of Land's insistence on Exit, and what MC here is calling withdrawal..

Saying that we can get at deterritorializing/decoding through the majoritarian political process reminds me of many horrid hours wasted in my more activisty-lefty days, arguing over whether or not voting Dem can help the anarchist cause 😬

Perhaps political is the wrong term entirely, maybe economic would be a better replacement. In reference to capitalism that is. (Opening another can of worms with that though.)

I suppose there is the Karl Marx guide to the political: vote in favor of free trade.
