The speed with which Meta went from accelerationist to conservative to neoconservative is breathtaking. https://twitter.com/meta_nomad/status/953352579366432768 …

I don't even disagree with this. I question the neoconservative label though. Cannot one be both an accelerationist and *still* hold a day to day practical political perspective?

Great question. I think the question of how to tie accelerationism into more day to day stuff is left largely unanswered. Almost any other belief seems to theoretically nullify any claim to being an accelerationist.

Surely one can support the contemporary political position which they believe will "accelerate the process" e.g. many Trump voters.

That sounds suspiciously like the notion of “haha I voted for trump but ironically”. But i guess you’re right. Just something about this doesn’t feel right. Can’t quite articulate it right now.

My suspicions are similar. I generally think it is said by people as a mode of self-justification.

Im doubtful those who truly believe in voting would ever vote ironically, perhaps mention such as a joke, but ultimately the privacy of voting removes any possibility of a extroverted sticking-it-to-the-man.
