Ill check out Train to Buzan. An underrated classic that was well ahead of its time was The Dead Next Door, assimilation of consumerism.

It was less good and more had an interesting idea poorly carried through. 28 days later was an interesting rethinking.

28 Days didnt adhere to them being consumers though, just rage filled shells. Prefer pure-consumption as aim.
