      - the former U/Acc take unconditionality with regards to acceleration as a priori, and thus do not adhere to the notion of free will wrt humans (or the universe), as such that which happens...happens, what will be will be. Personal opinion: Does this not make U/Acc nihilism?

U/Acc no doubt has nihilistic traits but I really don’t get where you’re getting the free will point from. I’ve never understood it to be absolute. Of course we have free will but that’s not the same as saying that *everything* bends to that will.

Granted, I couldn’t follow that threads fractal directions yesterday so maybe I’m missing something.

Interesting point on *everything* bending towards the will. Would this then mean that U are simply *allowing* whatever to be. Whereas R are actively attempting to control that which may wish to alter its course?

That’s how I’ve always understood the R/L commonality, personally: attempting to steer rather than enter into the process. “Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the law” was an adopted U/Acc axiom early on and remains an important one I think.

My problem with that axiom is that in Thelemic terms (where it's from) there's a difference between what one *wants* and one's *will*. And more often than seems coincidental the endgame of U/Acc is that which its members *want* as opposed to just 'entering into the process'.

Thelema as desire is separate to the wants and wills of ego, certainly, which is partly the point. Postcapitalist desire can be seen as thelemic — desire beyond quotidian wants. Desire ruptures the quotidian. This is as Deleuzian as it is Crowlian and that’s the U/Acc sweet spot.

That which you *will* to do is your life's calling, life steering you towards a self-understanding. So, it is indeed the 'steering' aspect wherein lies the split, does life (or capital) steer, or does 'you'? U & R respectively.

It is merely coincidental then that life's steering, or non-quotidian desire seems to steer people towards that which they materially wish for/want too. This is flippant though.

Not coincidence at all: “libidinal engineering” gives the illusion of a calling whilst covering up manipulation — “communicative capitalism” is Fisher and Jodi Dean’s example: capitalism hijacking human will to communicate for its own ends, engineering desire for iPhones etc.

This was taken to teh extreme yesterday wherein capital has controlled humans from day 1. In your cited sense u/Acc are giving into the manipulation and letting capital - without conditions - do its thing?

I mean, that’s the Land/Negarestani abstract horror vision of capital, perhaps — Reza wrote of oil as that which has been lying dormant in the earth’s crust, ready to enslave us. The theory-fictional way of conceiving capital’s atemporal grasp on civilisation.

In this way, capital is “blobjective” — Reza neologism — an outside that nonetheless absorbs all that in comes into contact with. Such is the engine of our manipulation by capital.

I don’t know about letting capital “do its thing” — what is its thing? Acknowledging agency is not the same as knowing what that agency is. That’s part of the horrorist angle. Immanentise — if you dare.
