Consumerism (zombies), of recent years, has become so absolute in its power it feels like it has faded away. The reality is it has become more aggressive than ever, eroding every last piece of 'soul', tradition or humanity into an unidentifiable sludge.

It was an idiotic decision on Danny Boyle's part to not include 28 Days Later in the Z genre, the rage-filled consumerism en masse was prophetic of black friday madness.

'Cargo' takes an interesting trajectory, wherein the difficulty is that of raising a child amongst the Z hellspawn, protecting them from the brain rot of consumption for its own sake.

Yeah, I liked this movie too. Been meaning to blog about it. Surprised by how brutal, too.

I did a 4 part series on zombie films ages ago, they got awful after Land of the Dead, which wasn't great, largely because it's hard to maintain the terror of violence via film - people get desensitized - Cargo was a nice revitalisation of the genre. I liked the Gov Z kits too.
