this shit is a koan, like if she has to do something to get it it isn't unconditional and i can't tell if this is super obvious or what because nobody in the replies refers to it

I'm confused about what "getting" is here. If some people around the world have unconditional love for one person, they have it for all people -- that's truly unconditional. And what's there to get? But I guess most people don't see it that way?

that's part of the koan too! is it more like "getting" or more like recognizing that whatever unconditional love is available was always already there?

Huh that made me realize If unconditional love exists (and I believe it does) then I am and have always been receiving it

Then there's still the question of what that love *is* re: concrete changes in behaviors and stayed. But it's nice to know that at least a few enlightened people, Jesus, probably some little kids, etc, have forgiven and accepted me

I guess this is "Jesus loves you" is so comforting to people.

Even though I'm not Christian, the thought is comforting! And there are likely others like him out there too, in the past or future, in other universes, alien AI, or beings I haven't considered. It would be surprising if not. He's a good concrete example.
