I stated that hyperbolically. I mean: Check, but if you're forced to settle for old editions, inconvenient formats, broken OCR, missing illustrations, file-transfer friction, and similar problems (frequent for me), consider just buying the ebook or audiobook.

I think potentially that when we buy or own a book, we feel more pressured (sunk costs) to spend time on or finish reading it even when we need not. Most books are not worth spending time on.
