It’s easy to sign up for something when you don’t sign the part that holds you accountable for any breaches #optionalprotocolhttps://my.uplift.ie/petitions/give-people-with-disabilities-a-right-to-bring-a-complaint-for-violation-of-their-rights …

Why are you paying to promote this? With reservations and without the optional protocol it is only a token, meaningless, toothless. It will make little difference to those in most need of change.

Please make sure you up amounts paid to people with disabilities since until that happens not much changes! Living wage is fair, keeping people with disabilities on a social welfare based payment keeps them on poverty level and that needs to change now!

Good news for most. The young and the elderly seem to be catered for. What about the "middle " age groups? Will there be money for our needs? We need Respite, our carers need the respite. We need day centres, we need to be catered for also.

You left out the #OptionalProtocol. While you're spending public funds to promote the CRPD being ratified, how about full transparency and discuss why it wasn't also included?

It is not a key moment as it is not being implemented in full, and McGrath thinks he is fooling the public, he is not and he has a cheek to try and whitewash this.

But put in a caveat where ppl cannot appeal decisions? Typical Irish government putting in loopholes from the start. Enjoy your pension Fintan cause you won't be getting back in

The last FF govt ratified the Hague Convention on the rights of the child which was a good thing but the way they amended Irish law & implemented it destroyed international adoption & forced people to use private agencies, quadrupling the cost of adoption where it was available.

Fine Gael we're only happy to continue the practices under Frances Fitzgerald and it eventually lost hundreds of Irish couples & sole adopters thousands of €€ when the agency went bankrupt. The Hague Convention was done purely for commercial reasons so beware of any motives

I see, so that is way your Councils and planning departments called an artistic children's shed, meant for children with disabilities, that was meant to be built and asked planning permission for, an "alien use" in the designated area.
