Balance of payments results recorded a current account surplus of €12.5 bn in the year.
On a seasonally adjusted basis, constant price GDP for the fourth quarter of 2016 increased by 2.5% compared with the previous quarter.
Building and construction recorded an 11.4% increase in real terms and manufacturing recorded a 1.8% increase.

Initial estimates for fourth quarter of 2016 indicate that there was an increase of 2.5% in GDP in real terms in Q4 2016.
Industry made the most positive contribution to Q4 result, rising by 4.9%.
