One of the tricks that has helped me write over the years is to have the spell checker turned off.
Having an omnipresent spell checker pinging every word you type is such a distraction! Just click "check" after you finish

The result was that I really loved it: Weird Al was awesome, his band was great, and Emo Philips was the perfect choice as the opener!
Only shame is that the audience didn't seem fully prepared to be listening to the originals instead of the parody hits.
